The short answer is not really... Things have definitely slowed back down to normal levels since the large rate increases in the Summer of 2022. There was an initial (very small) pull back on pricing as the market adjusted, but SA home prices are still about 3% higher in 2024 than they were in 2023. That's mostly driven by builder's pricing strategies with new construction. Instead of reducing prices, they drastically increased incentives to cover closing costs and buy down interest rates to make mortgage payments as affordable as possible. We're still seeing price increases and a lot of demand in new home communities all across the city. Resale homes are also selling well year over year. We just never saw that big correction everyone was expecting. The good news though is that there's definitely more inventory for homebuyers to look at these days and far better opportunities with builder incentives. Were you considering a move in the near future?

If you aren't coming here merely to retire with a partner already then San Antonio is a horrible place to move to. Industry is very limited here, not many career fields you can find a job in. The lack of career jobs pushes many to leave San Antonio thus the dating scenes is horrible. The weather is horrible in the summer cause of course San Antonio is in Texas. The traffic could be worse, but is actually horrible considering San Antonio is only really worth retiring in. What little fun and things to do we have such as theme parks, etc, etc get boring and old fast considering that's basically the only thing to do in San Antonio. Downtown San Antonio is like the only thing to go and see and most of it is just places to go eat at. However the places to eat at are horrible due to the restaurants just being merely tourist traps. The only kind of food you'll probably ever find in San Antonio really is just tex mex. Etc etc, don't come to San Antonio, infact while Texas isn't really bad, I'd say don't come to Texas. The only people who think Texas is any good are those who care about moving to good cheap place to live more than moving to a place where there are things you can do.

You like the water that runs to your house? You like law enforcement that when you call they come promptly,you like your trash picked up every week by the city or county ?Also if there is a fire you like that they will come to where you stay well guess what Propert tax but also the goodnews you get credit for it as homeowner if you file taxes ,you do pay taxes right?

@@adarrinsmith7491 rates pay for services to your home and it's only a few thousand a year. Less than 2k a year in my house that's worth 400k. But you guys pay crazy amounts. And what's the HOA fee pay for?

The HOA's in most San Antonio communities are around $600/yr. For about $50/mo you have access to all of the amenities shown in this video. It also covers maintenance for all of the amenitiesas well as the rock wall fencing, monuments, and landscaping that keep the neighborhood looking beautiful. Many of the HOA's also coordinate community events and socials to bring neighbors together. HOA communities aren't for everyone, but they do usually provide a lot of value for what you have to pay in most of the neighborhoods I've seen in the San Antonio area.

In Central Florida where i live 1.3 -1.7 and your neighbor can reach out and touch you from there home
